Atrophaneura priapus is a butterfly from West Java – Indonesia. This butterfly is a member of the family PAPILIONIDAE. Atrophaneura priapus is black. It has a broad yellow band on the hind wings. The body has a yellow hair coat. The females are dark-brown. The veins are bordered by white colour.
The fore wings are black. The veins partly bordered by white colour.
The underside of Atrophaneura priapus is very similar to the upside.
The hind wings of Atrophaneura priapus are black. The edge is a little bit wavy. There is a broad, yellowish band on the wing. This band contains some black spots. Next to the body there is a white area with red edge.
The underside is similar to the upside, but the white area is missing.
The body (abdomen) is yellow and black. Head and the underside of abdomen are yellow. The thorax is black.
