Papilio blumei, also called Peacock is a very great butterfly from South Sulawesi – Indonesia. Peacock is a big member of the family PAPILIONIDAE. The butterfly is black with iridescence green bands and spots. Hind wings have broad tails.
The forewings are black and powdered by green scales. In the middle of wind there is a very broad green band.
The underside is two coloured. First part is dark brown and powdered by whitish scales. Second part is whitish and has dark veins.
The hind wings are black and have broad green tails. The margin is ridged. At the margin there is a chain of big green spots. Nearby the body the black wing is powdered by green scales. Next to this there is a green band.
