Papilio gigon is a butterfly from Sulawesi – Indonesia. This butterfly is a member of the family PAPILIONIDAE. Papilio gigon is black. A chain of yellow spots dominates the wings.

The fore wings are black. A chain of yellow spots dominates the wing. At the wing leading edge there are four fine yellow lines.
The underside of Papilio gigon is very similar to the upside. The basic colour is dark-brown. At the wing leading edge there are some thin, yellow stripes. There are some fine yellow lines at the wing.

The hind wings of Papilio gigon are black and they have tails. The edge is wavy. The wing is dominated by a yellow band. At the outer edge there is a chain of yellow spots. At the inner edge there is a eye-spot.
The underside is black. Next to the body the wing is spotted by yellow scales. Two yellow bands dominate the wing. Between these yellow bands there is a blue wavy line and some orange veins.

The body is black, but the underside is yellow.
