Papilio karna karna, also called Jungle Jade is a fantastic butterfly from West Java – Indonesia. The Jungle Jade is a member of the family PAPILIONIDAE. The butterfly is black with an all-dominat green area on the wing. Hind wings have tails.
The fore wings are black. The whole wing is powdered by green scales.
The underside is brown. Next to the margin there is a broad whitish area with brown veins or horizontal stripes.
The hind wings are black and have broad tails. The margin is ridged. The whole wing is powdered by green scales. In the middle of wing there is a very broad turquoise area. Next to the margin there are three little green spots. In back there is a pink, red and black eye, with green eye shadow.
The underside is brown. The bigger part of wing is powdered by white scales. Next to the margin there is a chain of orange and blue spots. In back there is an orange and black eye.
The body is black or dark brown. Furthermore the upside is powdered by green scales.
